Firstly I would like to congratulate all the parents, children, teachers and members of the local community that supported our Fantastic Campaign.
To quote some wise words after Today's Vote, if the local Adminstration were not prepared to listen to Alex Salmond then would they really have been prepared to listen to
their electorate?
The fact that the Guidelines provided to ALL Education Conveners & Education Depts in 2007 by the Scottish Government have failed to be adhered to speaks volumes about our "empowered" Councillors.
As was obvious from the full Council meeting last week and the comments from various Councillors at their surgeries the decision was already made. The Consultation was merely followed as matter of "due process" -the content that was missing from the final presented report was glaringly obvious and the so called statistics clearly tailored to the Education Dept's one-sided argument.
It is also very sad that a tit-for-tat school playground attitude was adopted by the present SNP Group especially when they are playing with children's lives.
South Primary School will certainly not be the last school in Renfrewshire, the fact that the silence at the Education Board Meeting was deafening when Mr Rooney's "we only need 40 schools and we have 51" says it all -No denial just Silence...
This Decision Will Come Back to Haunt the Present Adminstration who should hang their heads in shame.

"SNP Tit-for-Tat" - Our Children WILL Come First
Our Campaign is about Children, their Rights, Education & their Future
Let us ignore the views of Paisley South Councillor Jim Mitchell on his "reasons for supporting the closure of South School" citing schools the previous Labour adminstration have closed in Renfrewshire due to falling rolls. It is quite ironic that this local councillor is happy to see his own ward affected by cuts and closures in order to score cheap retaliation points against Labour, when Cllr Mitchell opposed all the school closures he cites and supported the building of the new South School in 1986.

Councillor Newspaper Ads Ban
Are the local SNP-LibDem Administration feeling the heat by banning newspaper ads for Councillor Surgeries in the local press or are they just saving money..?
